The Board meeting of Network for Sustained Elimination of Iodine Deficiency was held on Jan. 17-18, 2008 in Geneva. Mr. Mao Qingguo, President and General Manager of China National Salt Industry Corporation, was invited for participation. Delegates also come from UNICEF, WHO, MI, EU Salt, Salt Institute, CDC, Emory University, ICCIDD, WFP and GAIN.
On behalf of Network, Alan Court, Chair of the Network Board first expressed his sincere welcome for Mr. Mao’s first time participation.

During the meeting, Mr. Mao made an important speech on the preparation work of the Salt Symposium which will be hosted by CNSIC in 2009. Board members were quite interested in the Salt Symposium in 2009 and gave suggestions on the preparation. |
