The 2006 International Conference on Salt was held during Jan. 19-20 in Ahmedabad, India.  Participant from 15 countries attended the Conference, including India, China, Japan, Germany, Switzerland, Australia and etc..

The Conference focused on the following  topics: exploring the potential of Indian Salt Industry; infrastructure connectivity; patterns of production, consumption and Indian experience of global salt market; designing, processing and up gradation of salt; salt market and applications; chlor alkali industry in India; iodization of salt and industry participation.

Mr. Mao Qingguo, President of  China National Salt Industry Corporation, chaired the section of  Salt Market and Applications. He also made a presentation called “Chinese Salt Market and Development of Chlorine Industry”, which was welcome with great ovation. He also answered various kinds of questions raised by different participants.
